Projects where the logistics of the ERP is yours: which purchases get ordered, which sales invoicing leaves on time and who answers when the warehouse asks for space. Shakers connects you with teams that arrive with a live SAP, not with a list of modules.
Going independent with SAP MM/SD in Spain usually starts inside a consultancy: the employment of the role lives in implementation firms and in the nearshore, with high-level English as the entry requirement. The Spanish independent route with a module identity almost does not exist.
This is not a study route: it is what gets configured on a real brief, what you must prove and where your territory ends.

“Shakers adds a lot of value because it connects you with sharper projects, already filtered and better defined. It saves you a big part of the upfront work of understanding the client, quoting and weighing up whether it is worth it, and that means that as a contractor you can go far more directly to the opportunities that genuinely fit you.”

“Life as a contractor has a lot going on and it is not always easy. We like to focus on what we are good at, but you also have to manage clients, invoicing and go looking for work. For me, Shakers has been key because it does that prospecting for me, it gives the client confidence from the very first moment, and it lets us be part of a community with real enthusiasm.”

“Shakers was key to getting my company off the ground: it gave me the flexibility to keep contracting while I built my next chapter. Without Shakers, I would have had to raise funding or push the project back.”

Join ShakersAn SAP MM/SD Consultant is the SAP functional consultant of the logistics area: they implement and configure the MM modules (purchasing: vendors, procurement, inventory, MRP) and SD (sales: pricing, orders, invoicing, Order-to-Cash) on implementation projects, ECC to S/4HANA migrations and AMS support, without writing code. Their craft reaches the warehouse with EWM and the senior specialisations such as Ariba and EDI. Their boundary: whoever writes ABAP or RICEF belongs to the ABAP Developer; accounting and controlling (FI/CO) is the sister area this row channels.
You decide what gets configured and what stays standard, how a purchase order arrives without noise and what goes into the migration to S/4HANA before the date rules. You also decide what the flow rejects: an unbalanced invoicing does not leave the quality environment. The system belongs to the business; the logistics that holds it is yours.

The purchase that gets stuck, the ECC to S/4HANA migration with a date or the invoicing the committee asks for: a logistics problem, not a list of transactions.
Documented configuration, pricing tested on the quality environment and traceability from order to invoice: what you deliver, the business maintains.
MM and SD together, S/4HANA as the migration destination, EWM in the warehouse, EDI in B2B integration and advanced Excel across the board.
Having held MM/SD modules in production and knowing how to tell them: what you implemented, what you migrated and what survived the first close.
Choosing between standard configuration and the consultancy's development by maintenance cost, not habit. Sometimes the standard wins, and defending it.
You configure the flow without writing code: ABAP is the ABAP Developer's and FI/CO is the sister area. If it asks for code or another module, you say so.

The purchase order that arrives with its pricing procedure, the sales invoicing tested on the quality environment and the inventory report operations asks for the committee. Fewer endless implementation processes, more logistics flow the business holds up every month.
169 active tech job ads in Spain mention SAP MM and 214 SAP SD, with literal titles such as 'Consultor/a Funcional SAP MM' at Mecalux or 'Consultor SAP MM/SD/LE (Logística)' (Shakers market analysis, n=31,557, September 2026). The employment lives in consultancies and large accounts, and Spain exports the role as a nearshore hub with high-level English as the entry requirement: the independent-by-project route in Spanish with a module identity almost does not exist.
Almost nobody arrives by accident: people come from implementation in a consultancy, from AMS support or from the supply chain after learning to configure the system. The MM/SD compound is the norm: the market titles logistics together and no serious brief asks for only half.
You do not write ABAP nor administer the technical base: the code is the ABAP Developer's (debugging it, yes). And if the brief asks for accounting and close (FI/CO), it gets declared at kickoff: sister area, not your module.
A logistics flow is not held up by one person alone: whoever writes the code, whoever holds the finances and whoever connects outside the SAP cross your path.
The sister area of the ERP: accounting and controlling. When the brief asks for close and reporting, the project goes through their row; the boundary gets agreed by the process that hurts.
You configure the flow, they write the system: RICEF, interfaces and Fiori. Big SAP projects cross both rows, and the code rule is written by theirs.
The other enterprise ERP of the ecosystem: when the logistics core lives on Microsoft, the project goes through their row. Both worlds share the enterprise client.
Much of enterprise support lives on IT service platforms: when the engagement is development on ServiceNow and not on the ERP, it goes to their repository.
When integration weighs more than the module: APIs outside the ERP, queues and server logic with no SAP in between go to their repository.
Boundaries between these roles are agreed per project: the job title doesn't set them.
