Shakers for expert talent

Build your career as a Product Manager

Projects where the product direction is yours: what gets discovered, what gets bet on and which metric judges every release. Shakers connects you with teams that arrive with a live product and a pending decision, not with a course to complete.

The Spanish PM lives on payroll or in a consultancy, with the title in English and the scope split across committees. The by-project direction route barely had a Spanish-language door: the generic marketplaces mix the role with any kind of management.

This is not a training route: it is what gets decided on a real engagement, what you must prove and where your territory ends.

Backend Developer & Data Engineer

“Shakers adds a lot of value because it connects you with sharper projects, already filtered and better defined. It saves you a big part of the upfront work of understanding the client, quoting and weighing up whether it is worth it, and that means that as a contractor you can go far more directly to the opportunities that genuinely fit you.”

Rubén

Software Developer

“Life as a contractor has a lot going on and it is not always easy. We like to focus on what we are good at, but you also have to manage clients, invoicing and go looking for work. For me, Shakers has been key because it does that prospecting for me, it gives the client confidence from the very first moment, and it lets us be part of a community with real enthusiasm.”

What a Product Manager decides every week

A Product Manager is whoever decides what gets built and in which order: they listen to the market, prioritise, define the roadmap and measure the impact. Working by project they direct products per engagement, with no fixed payroll. Their boundary: the Product Owner manages the backlog of one specific team; the project manager organises the execution of the plan.

You decide what enters the sprint and what waits, which interview happens before betting and which metric judges the last release. You also decide what does not get done: a request that does not pass the evidence filter gets rejected with an argument, and stopping the extra feature is part of the engagement. The bet belongs to the business; the evidence that orders it is yours.

What a Product Manager delivers on a Shakers project

At Shakers

The engagement arrives with the decision

The roadmap nobody decides, the feature that never takes off or the metric that does not exist: a direction problem, not a list of tools.

Delivery

Bets with a verdict

Backlog reordered by impact, roadmap with metric and judgement date, and the discovery that holds it up: decisions the team can execute.

Stack

Data leads

Analytics that get read, interviews that count and experiments that decide: the tool is the one the product needs, not the one in fashion.

What we ask

Counted decisions, not frameworks

Having decided with real consequences and knowing how to tell it: what you bet on, what you discarded, with which evidence and which metric judged it.

Judgement

Deciding is also discarding

Choosing between the feature the client asks for and the debt that brakes the product. Sometimes not building wins, and defending it with data is the craft.

Boundary

Where your engagement ends

You direct the what and the why; the how is the team's, the plan the project manager's. If the engagement crosses over, you say so and their row joins.

Frequently asked questions

Any other questions? Write to us and we will reply.

What does a contract Product Manager do?
They direct product per engagement: they discover what matters, decide what gets built, order the roadmap and measure the impact. One specific product, one period and a set of decisions, with no fixed payroll.
PM, PO or project manager?
The PM answers for the what and the why end to end; the PO for the backlog of a Scrum team; the project manager for the plan and the execution. The engagements here arrive with that boundary already written.
How much to charge as a contract Product Manager?
The mechanism marks it: scope of the discovery, phase of the product, dedication and whether go-to-market comes in. The budget closes per engagement; rates by the loose day do not describe this craft.
Do I need startup experience?
You need counted decisions with real consequences, from whichever sector: what you bet on, which evidence you had and which metric judged it. That is what Shakers certifies, not the logo on the CV.
Is there enough engagement volume in Spain?
The pool is the biggest of the neighbourhood: 2,613 active ads mention Product Manager, three times more than Product Owner (Shakers market analysis, n=31,957, September 2026). The by-project route is the one that was missing.
How do I join with no network of my own?
By getting certified: the process verifies your practice and the collective brings the engagements. Your job is showing decisions; connecting each project to your profile is ours.
The daily shape of the craft

The interview that invalidates a bet, the backlog that gets reordered by impact and the metrics review that decides whether the feature lives or dies. Between decisions, the invisible work: aligning business and team on what winning means.

The market titles you in English

The Spanish offer says Product Manager, and underneath hybrids of everything: PO, project manager, even marketing. Your title is English here too; your engagement, product direction end to end.

From opinion to evidence

The delivery gets told in bets with a verdict: what the discovery learned, which metric every release moved and what got discarded for not passing the filter. Without evidence there is no craft.

Who you share a product with

A product does not live alone: whoever builds, whoever measures and whoever guarantees quality cross your path in every engagement.

Build

Full Stack Developer

Whoever turns the roadmap into product: when the direction is there and whoever builds end to end is missing, their row joins the engagement.

View profile →

Data

Data Analyst

The evidence that judges your bets: when the discovery needs analytics that get read and nobody serves them, their row puts them to decide.

View profile →

Agents

AI Engineer

The builder of the current era: when the roadmap asks for agents or applied AI, their row raises what your strategy decides.

View profile →

Quality

QA Engineer

The promise that holds: when every release risks the metric you get judged by, their row shields what gets delivered.

View profile →

Experience

Frontend Developer

The face of the product: when activation never takes off and the pain lives in the interface, their row builds what your discovery designed.

View profile →

Boundaries between these roles are agreed per project: the job title doesn't set them.
